Future Projects:

Each community has unique needs, but all are struggling to educate underprivileged children in the Dominican Republic. Our plan is to expand our model programs gradually to other communities only after we have ensured that the local communities will be able to support and sustain these schools.

In the founding years, important groundwork was laid. Classrooms, bathrooms, and libraries were all constructed, and resources were collected. Now is it very important to teach the community as to how to take advantage of their new resources. Community involvement and teacher training are crucial for the success of any school.

Some schools may need more time or attention than others. We encourage you to read about each project and to learn about the different programs we are implementing in our communities and follow our progress!

Program Goals for 2005-2007:

  • Develop a School Attendance Policy
  • The DREAM Project will monitor school attendance and provide the initiatives for parents to become actively involved in educating their children. The focus will be to increase the attendance rates by improving the quality of education and implementing new programs.

  • Implement a Public Health Program

Now that we have brought running water to the schools, our goal is to move forward by providing basic hygiene and public health education.
