Appreciated securities are perhaps the
most cost–effective way to make a gift. When you transfer
ownership of long term holding, you receive a charitable deduction
for their full market value, and you may not incur any capital gains
tax. See your broker for more details.
Because electronic
transfers are made without identifying the donor, PLEASE ALERT US

- In-kind donations
The DREAM Project is able to accept small
individual items such as school
supplies and books. Ask us if you have something you would like
to donate
and feel would be needed. We CANNOT, however, send them to the Dominican
Republic for you. You may bring them down if you are coming and
deliver them
to our office in Cabarete.
If you plan to bring supplies with you on your vacation, we suggest
bringing
colored pencils, chalk, puzzles, maps, permanent markers, educational
CD-ROMs in Spanish, dot to dot books (or other light newsprint books),
educational audio cassettes, children's scissors, Lego educational
sets, and
Play-dough. These items are easier to find in the United States
than in
the Dominican Republic. They are also light and easy to carry.
