Jill Applegate

Jill is a Kansas native and recent college graduate with degrees in Political Science, Spanish, and International Studies. During her second year working with DREAM, Jill will serve as the Volunteer Coordinator and a Co-Coordinator of the LUCEROS Documentation Program. As an undergraduate, Jill conducted ethnographic research studying the economic effects of immigration on rural Kansas communities, taught ESL classes, and volunteered with on-campus organizations providing relief for students in financial need. After writing her senior thesis on the evolution of youth violence in Central America, Jill is excited to gain a deeper understanding of education and youth development programs, as well as contribute to DREAM’s work providing sustainable educational opportunities for youth in the Dominican Republic.
