Community and Family Programs Coordinator
Originally from Santo Domingo, Julissa Tejeda joined the DREAM Project following her graduation from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra, where she earned a Master’s degree in Family Mediation. Julissa also has a Bachelor’s degree in General Psychology from the Universidad Technológica de Santiago. Prior to moving to Cabarete, Julissa lived and worked in Boca Chica. As staff member at Caminante Proyecto Educativo, she coordinated different youth prevention programs. Julissa also completed an internship with The District Attorney Office of Boca Chica, focusing on cases involving families and at-risk children, and developing prevention programs. Julissa has also consulted on various Peace Corps projects, such as Chicas Brillantes, Deportes para la vida (DPV) as master coach, and Escojo mi Vida. As DREAM’s new Community and Family Programs Coordinator, Julissa manages several programs, as Parent Education, Escuelita de Padres (early intervention for parents with children under 3 years of age) and the Scholarship program Escojo mi Futuro. Julissa has also supported the new pilot programs for girls, Unica.
