Mi Mundo is excited to announce the release of our second issue! After a summer of journalism workshops, the Mi Mundo team has put together a remarkable magazine about their community, their culture, and the problems that local youth are facing. This issue includes exclusive interviews with Robinson Canó, female kiteboarders, Cabarete firefighters, and much more!
In the Mi Mundo program students research their areas of interest and participate in workshops to build their writing and editing skills. To celebrate their hard work, the Mi Mundo students have begun distributing the magazine to local businesses and public schools. These student journalists will also be at the My Very Own Library® DREAM Book Fair on November 14th to discuss their work and promote their love of reading and writing.
This issue owes a special thank you to the editor, Ana Galan, and Adriana Romero, Maria Ros, Clara Sánchez-Vela, Laura Schoffer and Laura Vela for leading the journalism workshops, graphic design, and photography of the issue. Finally, thanks to our inaugural sponsors Freddy Tours, Carib Wind, Vela, Bachata Academy, Veritas Reality Group, Blossom, and Miró for believing in this amazing magazine!
