Program Summary
The DREAM Project has a limited fellowship fund for partial scholarships to go towards the full cost of the year-long volunteer program fee. The fellowship program allows individual donors to sponsor a volunteer. However, we do encourage most of our volunteers to seek outside donors, grants and fellowships to sponsor their work. The fellowship is allotted based on qualifications, special circumstances and financial need. Fellowships will only be granted to year-long DREAM volunteers.
Application Process
To apply for the DREAM fellowship, applicants should include with their application a brief one page letter that demonstrates financial need and highlights specific qualifications for the program. DREAM also asks the applicant to specify the amount of money requested, as well as limit the request to what would be necessary for participation. All decisions will be made by the Executive Director. There are no minimum requirements to apply. Those who receive awards usually have advanced degrees, certifications or experience, are advanced Spanish speakers, and can show financial need (submit a W-2 or proof of outstanding student loans).
Sponsor a Volunteer
DREAM is currently seeking visionary donors to support the DREAM Volunteer Fellowship Program. If you would like to sponsor a volunteer, a donation of $10,000 will allow one volunteer to spend a year serving the underprivileged children of the Dominican Republic. If you know a volunteer who is looking for funding, you can donate in his or her name and DREAM will deduct the amount of your donation from their fee. All donations are tax-deductible. Email info@dominicandream.org for more information, or visit our donation page to make a gift.
