Danielle Jonas-Delson
Psychology and Volunteer Programs Fellow
Danielle Jonas-Delson, a second-year Princeton in Latin America Fellow with DREAM, graduated from Occidental College in May 2024 with a degree in Cognitive Science and minors in Linguistics and Spanish. During her first year, she worked in and helped lead the Department of Orientation and Psychology, supporting neurodivergent children in DREAM's Montessori classrooms and collaborating with their families, therapists, and teachers. She appreciates the Department’s emphasis on forming an integral support team for these children and values early intervention, especially in the area of speech and language. In her second year, Danielle will continue working with the Psychology team to create and implement a program to evaluate and stimulate children's speech and language development. She will also support programming for the incoming Fellows and short-term volunteers, including coordinating the volunteers during DREAM’s Summer Camp, a role that she stepped into last summer. In the future, Danielle intends to pursue a career in speech-language therapy to integrate her experience working with neurodiverse children with her academic background in linguistics. A lover of hiking, running, and spending time outdoors, she enjoys exploring the beautiful beaches and nature of the Dominican Republic and running ultra trail races in the mountains.
