The DREAM Project and Cigar Country Announce the DREAM Montessori Prize

Cabarete, Puerto Plata, DR – The DREAM Project and Cigar Country have partnered to promote a sustainable early learning system in the Dominican Republic, based on the Montessori Method and best practices in early childhood care and education. With this partnership, the DREAM Montessori Prize arises, which features two prizes: a first place will receive the provision of equipment, furniture, materials and support and training for two years to install a Montessori classroom; a second place will receive a classroom library, which includes custom shelves and a variety of dynamic, age-appropriate children's books.

Applications are open to any organization and/or educational institution, working in a vulnerable community. In this first phase, to complete the application, applicants must fill out the form available on the DREAM Project website: www.dominicandream.org/premio-dream-montessori.

The requirements that applicants must meet are the following:

• Have a minimum of 20 students from 3 to 5 years old.

• Have a space available that is spacious enough to house 20 students and two teachers (approximately 65 m2).

• Have a teaching staff

• Present evidence of research-based sustainable educational practices at your institution.

 The DREAM Project and Cigar Country invite all applicants who meet the criteria to fill out their applications as soon as possible, as the application deadline is January 31, 2023.
