The DREAM Project, a north-coast non-profit founded in 1995 that serves over 7,000 children and youth each year, is thrilled to announce that Catherine DeLaura, DREAM’s long-time Executive Director, will become the non-profit’s Board President.

Dr. Cledenin Veras, an experienced educational professional, will be DREAM’s new Executive Director, effective November 1, 2023. Ms. Laura Sundquist, Peace Corps Education Program Manager for the past seven years, will also join DREAM as Deputy Director.

The second edition of the DREAM Night Out: Wine Tasting took place at ULA, where more than 125 people gathered to enjoy an incredible night in support of DREAM.

The DREAM Project and Cigar Country have partnered to promote a sustainable early learning system in the Dominican Republic, based on the Montessori Method and best practices in early childhood care and education. With this partnership, the DREAM Montessori Prize arises, which features two prizes: a first place will receive the provision of equipment, furniture, materials and support and training for two years to install a Montessori classroom; a second place will receive a classroom library, which includes custom shelves and a variety of dynamic, age-appropriate children's books.

Last month, two book fairs were held, one in the community of Guerra, Santo Domingo, sponsored by the LA Dodgers and another in the community of Verón, Punta Cana, sponsored by the Consorcio Energético Punta Cana-Macao (CEPM ). On both fairs, activities with a specific theme were carried out and combined fun, learning and love for reading, impacting a total of more than 300 students in at-risk communities.

Last Sunday, the 8th Annual DREAM Holiday Brunch was held at Velero Beach Resort and brought together the Cabarete community, local entrepreneurs and philanthropists from North Coast to give back to the community. Family, friends and fun. The guests enjoyed a delicious brunch, spectacular sounds from DJ Kitrinos and DJ Natali Satin, as well as fun activities and games for all.
